ATMs are typically a place you go to withdraw money, but that wasn’t quite the case for a Texas man. As he was entering his information in the Bank of America ATM, a note suddenly slid out from the money slot. Puzzled, the man took it and discovered a hastily-scribbled note.
“Please Help Im stuck here and I don’t have my phone please call my boss,” it read.
Looking around for a hidden camera, the man was thoroughly confused. When he heard a faint voice coming from inside the machine, he decided it was time for the police to handle the matter. “We come out here, and sure enough we can hear a little voice coming from the machine,” said officer Richard Holden. “So we are thinking this is a joke. It’s got to be a joke.”
It was no joke. The voice and the note belonged to a technician who had become trapped in the ATM for two hours. He had been called to service the machine, but became trapped when the door closed. With his phone and swipe card in the van, he had no choice to but scribble pleas of help and feed them through the slot to bank customers.
The technician was free once the police busted down the door and was completely unharmed.
