It’s not unusual for famous celebrities to move to another country or purchase their own private island as an “extra” home, but Madonna has moved to Lisbon, Portugal and it looks like she’s here to stay…at least for the time being.
As any great parent would do for their child, the move was for the benefit of her 11-year-old son, David Banda, who just joined the Benfica football team youth academy.
It looks like the star is taking to her new home wonderfully, giving us a sneak peek on her Instagram and even cracking a joke in her caption, saying, “I used to be a basket case but now I Live in Lisbon!”
In another post, she promises new music and the start of one of the biggest and best chapters of her life.
There are some rumors circulating that the singer and mother bought an 18th-century home over the summer called Quinta do Relogio for €7.5 million (about $9 million USD), but this speculation has yet to be confirmed by a credible source.
Until a permanent residence has been acquired, the whole family will be staying at the Pestana Palace Lisboa, a gorgeous five-star hotel.
