An entire airline will be providing flights for the millennial age range from 18 to 35. That seems like the market many merchants are going for these days. Of course, it’s ingenious. When you go for that demographic, all the others will come right along with it.
Joon will be the airline. Air France plans to provide medium-haul flights this fall out of Charles de Gaulle International Airport. But, they will add to the flight experience by the summer of 2018.
Flying The Millennial Sky
What will make the airline different? First of all, the staff will wear millennial uniforms. That means, they won’t have uniforms or their uniforms won’t look like uniforms. They’ll look like they’re flying right along with you, but occasionally, the staff will casually help you out. “Hey! you want a soda while I’m up?” Or, “just in case, let me show you how to fasten a seat belt.”
You know, like a millennial would. Then, of course, the airline will offer a whole bunch of millennial amenities. Caroline Fontaine is the VP of Brand at Air France who said in the press release, “This generation has inspired us a lot; epicurean and connected, they are opportunistic in a positive sense of the word as they know how to enjoy every moment and are in search of quality experiences that they want to share with others. Joon is a brand that carries these values.”
Are Millennials Connected As Much As People Say They Are?
So, what values are they? As you fly, everyone is connected to their own device. They’re playing video games, checking their facebooks, and editing proposals on their iPhones. When the inflight meal is served, it’s only what millennials eat. I don’t know. They’re leaving the actual details out of the information stream so they keep the customers guessing how Joon will be so special.
